Tummy Tuck

At a glance:

-The Tummy Tuck procedure has been gaining popularity in the US over the last few decades. The typical patient has had one or more pregnancies and wishes to remove excess stretched skin from the lower abdomen, remove excess fatty tissue, and repair any stretched out muscles. Recent studies show this may even improve incontinence, and strengthen core.

-This is commonly combined with liposuction around the hips/flanks to create an obvious hourglass figure.

- Many patients consider doing both a tummy tuck and breast lift (with or without implants) as a "Mommy Makeover" to restore pre-pregnancy form.

- Downtime: 2-3 weeks, can usually return to light work within 7-10 days. If combined with liposuction and or a breast lift the recovery may be longer. SCPAS patients are eligible for home care provided by the practice.
